Singapore will continue to welcome "legitimate wealth" and "genuine investments" despite the political and economic uncertainties in the world, Chee Hong Tat disclosed

Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance, said during the Global Investment Summit that Singapore will remain open and welcoming to "legitimate wealth" and "genuine investments". Hosted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Invest Singapore on October 19, 2022, the summit targeted investors, business leaders, and policymakers from across the globe.

Chee delivered his speech highlighting Singapore's "openness, connectivity, pro-business environment, and sound regulatory framework". He emphasized that the country would "continue to welcome legitimate wealth and genuine investments" amidst the rising geopolitical uncertainties and economic volatilities in the world.

Despite the economic headwinds, Chee remained optimistic about Singapore's economic outlook. He stated that he believes Singapore will remain an "attractive destination" and a "trusted hub" for businesses, investors, and talents. Chee shared that "Singapore’s fundamentals remain sound" and that the country is committed to growing its economy sustainably.
